Vote for the GradU8 Employer of the Year 2012

Right now, we are working to create a smarter planet. Integrating systems and technology to tackle the world’s biggest challenges head on. From climate change to water conservation to the need for better, more innovative infrastructure. There’s a lot to do, and we need people with ideas. People just like you.

As a graduate at IBM, you will gain knowledge and experience like nowhere else. You’ll also be challenged and supported to achieve everything you want in your career. And you’ll find everything you need to build the kind of career they want. But it’s up to you how it goes – you’ll be the one in charge, putting forward their ideas, taking on responsibilities and making choices about how you get the job done.

So it’s no wonder that we’ve been voted ‘Graduate Employer of Choice for IT’ at The Times Graduate Recruitment Awards time and time again. Quite an achievement – but nothing compared to the great things our students and graduates go on to accomplish.

I don’t have a technical degree, is it worth me applying to IBM?

IBM will consider applications from people with any degree background. What we ask though is that you can demonstrate the core competencies that we look for including a passion for the area you are applying to.

What are your minimum educational requirements?

We ask that applicants are expecting or have obtained a minimum of a 2:1 honours degree. We have no minimum UCAS points requirement.

Can I apply for more than one job role?

No, you can only apply for one job with us at any one time. If during our selection process we feel your skills would be better suited to a different role or you would like to change your application to an alternative role, we will discuss this with you at the time.

How long does the whole process take from when I apply?

On average you can expect the whole selection process to take between 8 – 10 weeks. This is from when you submit your application to potentially being made a job offer. The timings do depend on when we have selection days planned and it also assumes that there will be no technical issues with your application form or online aptitude test. Therefore, please note that in some cases it may take longer than the anticipated 8 – 10 weeks.

I need a work permit to work in the UK. Can I apply to IBM?

We can only accept applications from students with a permanent right to work in the UK.
