ABOUT HOWDEN
From its base in the West of Scotland, Howden has been leading the world in the design and manufacture of fans, heat exchangers and compressors for over 150 years. With 3800 employees in 17 countries and equipment operating in another 90 countries, our products operate in key industries such as power generation and petrochemicals where performance and reliability are crucial. Working with clients such as Shell, BP, Scottish Power, Arcelor Mittal we partner with global companies to provide technical and business solutions. We have over 700 employees located in the UK.
Our Graduate engineers progress through Howden at a rate that matches their ambition. The current Chief Executive Officer was a former graduate, as were a number of senior managers, who are in both senior technical and commercial roles.
THE PRODUCTS
We have a reputation for engineering excellence and are acknowledged throughout the world as the market and technical leader, in virtually all our product ranges. Take our fans and blowers for example. You could be designing rotating equipment which absorbs 10MW in shaft power, is running at trans-sonic peripheral speed, or which has the equivalent kinetic energy in its rotor to a goods train running at 100 km/hr
GRADUATE OPPORTUNITIES
We are seeking to recruit 4 graduate trainees onto our IMechE accredited training programme. The course is also consistent with the professional requirements of the IMechE. We are seeking Graduate Engineers to start in September 2012.
Occasionally we also have other opportunities for Graduate Engineers, for example we are currently looking for a Graduate Proposals Engineer to join us as soon as possible.
